Alya with her new video Say Goodbye

The single Say goodbye, which has been airing on several large and small radio stations all over Slovenia, has finally gotten a video. Like the song itself, it has been recorded in Slovenian and English.

Alya decided to collaborate with the filming crew Outdoggy, the video itself was shot in four days in various locations in Slovenia and Croatia. There are many romantic scenes in the video, which Alya played out with her keyboardist Boštjan.
Unfortunately, Boštjan hurt himself on the last day of shooting while opening a bottle of red wine. “It happened while we were shooting the “picnic” scene. The injury was more serious than it first appeared, considering how musicians take care of their fingers. Our picnic blanket was suddenly stained with drops of blood and my “lover” was shortly after brought to the Izola hospital, where he got 4 stitches,” explained Alya.

”Other than that, our team really had fun filming, despite the fact that they had to wake up at 6 a.m. every day and had to shoot late into the night. The last day was the best, since we shot the scene with the Cadillac at the Črni Kal pass,” she added.

The promotional event presenting her new video was hosted at the Playa bar in Ljubljana. The singer was accompanied on the red carpet by Dejan from the Španik car dealership, with which Alya has been collaborating for a while and has been, as a well-known celebrity, hosting events and helping to inform young drivers about defensive driving. “I was awaited at the end of the red carpet by the host Goti, which was a real surprise for me. I was happy that so many friends, colleagues and co-workers and even curious bystanders responded to the invitation. I was very pleased with the promotion of the video in the Playa bar, and came home in early morning hours,” said Alya, who is recently under way between Slovenia and Serbia. She namely appeared in several TV shows in Beograd.

Alya – Say goodbye (new single)

Alya spent the entire year working and even the holidays weren’t an exception. She took a vacation not earlier than at the end of August, since she had no time earlier because of concerts and other obligations and now with the autumn promotion new obligations arrive. The start of the new school year will be accompanied with the new single TU IN ZDAJ (the English version SAY GOODBYE), for which the attractive singer shot a video at the end of August.
“It’s hard to explain why I decided the song Tu in zdaj to be my next single. When you get that feeling, you just do it! I like the song from its core and a lot of people tell me, that it’s very catchy and that it reminds you of the Duffy style and that it’s a mix, something special, but I like to add that the song is a sort of a surfer Poser’n’roll,” said Alya smiling.

The single was recorded in two versions, in Slovene and English. ”I have to say, that I really like to sing in English and my producers think that I sing better in a foreign language, hahaha,” commented Alya on her switch from one language to another, which is for most singers challenging. Otherwise she was accompanied by her “vocal coach” Jason, who is from the USA and is an excellent singing teacher and counsellor. He helped her with her pronunciation and was her adviser while she was recording in a studio in Germany.
“I’m very happy that the single will be released in both versions, because it would be hard for me to choose which one is better. I really enjoyed recording both versions and having to switch from one language to the other didn’t cause me any trouble. I’m certain that I will record more songs in a foreign language in the future, but at the same time I wish to remain loyal to my native language."

VIDEO COMING TO SMALL SCREENS AT THE END OF THE MONTH
Arriving soon to small screens is the video Tu in zdaj, which Alya shot with the Outdoggy crew in four days on different locations over Slovenia and Croatia. “There are a lot of romantic scenes in the video, which I shot with Boštjan, my keyboardist. I’ll reveal more about it, when it arrives at TV stations. The shooting was definitely different from the previous ones as it required more acting, which was the hardest part that we accomplished brilliantly.
Other than that, the fact that we shot the video for straight four days was an entirely new experience for me – the previous videos were shot in maximum two filming days – because of it was shot in different language versions. I haven’t seen the final cut of the video, but I’m very satisfied from what I saw up until now."

Alya will brighten autumn days with, beside her new song and video, concerts, which were already in abundance this year. “We had exceptionally good concerts this year in Ljubljana; I would also like to add that I haven’t had so many concerts in the Savinjska region, therefore “my region”, up until this year. I even had a concert in my hometown Mozirje haha! Sadly, I’m accompanied by a slight misfortune, as I twisted my ankle during a concert in spring and since then I’ve been trying to recover from the injury. At first it seemed that it was alright but then I twisted the same ankle again on the next concert ... So I’ve sadly been accompanied by the injury this year, of course beside great, loud and wild nights – concerts. But I won’t give in!”

Alya celebrates

Alya celebrated her birthday this Friday, but she says that the real celebration will begin a day later, at her concert.
“This month was full of pleasant obligations connected with music and for my birthday I wish more of it – so a lot more of good music and good friends,” says the attractive singer from Mozirje, who is  still presenting the single Non Stop from her album with the same title, across stages all over Slovenia.

She hopes that the concert, with which she will celebrate her birthday, will be different than her last one, at which the back of her corset loosened. “Each concert has a unique story and each time something interesting and funny happens. Whether it happens on the stage, behind it or in the wan on the way to the concert. It’s why I like to do what I do, because music is a lifestyle for me. But this time, I was the one that being laughed at. I already had my entire back in the open, so I had to hold onto my corset in the front, so it wouldn’t entirely fall off. I finished the song with a big laugh and made a short break, so that I could have a change of clothes,” said Alya laughing.

She also prepared a new Facebook profile with the name AlyaMusic. You can still find all current events and news on her official site www.alya.info

Alya in gallop

While Alya’s single Brazil is still frequently heard on radio stations across Slovenia and still receives an excellent reception from the crowd, the energetic singer prepares her next musical treat.

She didn’t even take a break from concerts in January and she promises that this year will also be very productive for her. There will be no lack of concerts in various performance forms and versions as well as new songs. She already introduced a few from her upcoming album Non Stop as singles and videos, while some still await to appear on radio broadcasts.

The upcoming new single will be the energetic, catchy and teasing song Non Stop, which is also the name of her latest album.
The single will come out in two versions – in a slightly tougher and in a dance version, which are both being prepared by the excellent producer Gregor Zemljič.

At the same time Alya prepared a series of new and interesting photographs that were made under the sharp eye of the excellent photographer Tanja Zrinski. “We had fun with Tanja and the filming crew yet again till morning hours and in the end we even ended up throwing cake at each other. The theme of the day was “Dangerous child”, since the lyrics of the upcoming single says: Non stop I’m driving you into a gallop, non stop I’m a dangerous child”, said Alya.

Alya is preparing herself for several appearances in the upcoming months and her big media promotion of the song Non Stop and on Saturday, on the 20. March, she will also take part of the ceremony of prestigious awards, Viktor of  popularity 2009.

Brazil in new wrapping

Alya has conquered the music scene this year with the single Brazil, which released in the form of an appealing video that was shot in the Alaya cocktail bar in Portorož, gave it even more splendour. Among numerous concerts and promotional obligations, she prepared a remix of the song which her team described, will be a real dance variant of the hit single, which Alya got from the Brazilian authors and is on her current album Non Stop.

“I’ve been asked a lot why we started to introduce the song as late as the middle of august, when the summer is practically starting to end. The reason is that the lyrics say: “... I remember the times, when we danced on the hot sand...” and therefore speak of the beautiful memories of summer fun and we also wanted to contradict already fixated practice”, says Alya. The remix is the work of the renowned producer Gregor Zemljič.

Even though Alya is best known for her music we also recognize her for her interesting style, ranging from vivid colours to unusual creations, accessories and hairstyles. She admitted that she has been gathering courage for quite some time to change her hairstyle and shorten her hair, even though long hair has been her trademark since the beginning. “But finally! I went to the hairdresser Urška Zorin, who shortened my hair with utmost delight and I think that I look like an 80’Diva, “ laughed Alya.

“I must say that it took me a week to get used to my new look, since I’m used to a “mane”. But when I found out that hair can get extended over the night, you know – hairdressers do wonders- I calmed down and now there’s a bet going on amongst the band, how long  I’ll last with short hair,” she said.

Most of all, she is happy that the response to the song Brazil has been so phenomenal. “Just recently at our concert in Štuk, in Maribor, the hall really shook, it was really phantastic and at the same time the concert-full November was marked for me with the performance at the Freshmen celebration in Maribor. In December the concert fever will only escalade, but I’m looking forward to the concert on the 28. December on the Prešeren square in Ljubljana,” added Alya.

And because December is the month of giving, Alya will also give out presents to her fans. On her always updated page www.alya.info  fans can receive Alya's poster.

New video Brazil

The year 2009 is without doubt Alya's year. Concerts, new songs, new albums, videos and an always surprising appearance and most of all Alya's unstoppable energy are all what make up a combination that is convincing.
After a summer full of concerts and the release of her new album Non Stop, the singer has presented herself in an entirely new image. Atleast we can say as much for the song Brazil if we listen closely to Alya's interpretation and lyrics. That the song we hear so many times broadcasted on the radios all over Slovenia sounds a bit different isn't odd at all, if we  know that it's an adaptation of a brazilian hit single.

The music is licensed by Mauro Jr Xande and Helinho Do who are both really keen on her version.  Collaboration with foreign authors wasn't a first time experience for Alya, since she has worked with several well-known musicians and authors in the past.

And how did she come across Brazilians? She says that her producer Žare Pak was on vacation in Brazil and later on suggested that the song be rewritten and rearanged. The slovenian part, the lyrics, were this time written by Flex. After dealing with formalities the shooting went smoothly and the song found its place on the album Non Stop.

“I really wanted to also shoot a video for the song Brazil, as the music alone just brings back memories of the beautiful days at the sea and parties on the beach. We decided to shoot the video in Portorož in the idyllic ambient of the Alaya cocktail bar. It was very hot but with combined strength we managed to shoot late into the night. I was especially happy about the numerous bystanders who at first only came closer to watch the shooting and at the ended up as walk-ons beside those who signed up and were auditioned. So we didn’t even have to act the party out and when the time came to turn off the cameras, we could have still gone on despite being exhausted” said Alya remembering the shooting.

New photos from concerts as well as from the backstage of the video shooting are available on www.alya.info  where you can also check on concert dates.

Alya from Brazil to Slovenia

Alya is currently representing herself with her single Brazil for which she also recorded a video which was recorded in Portorož and will soon air on small screens.

The song is the work of foreign authors and the music is licensed under Mauro Jr Xande and Helinho Do. So how did Alya come across Brazilians?
She says that her producer Žare Pak was on vacation in Brazil and later on suggested that he rewrites and rearranges the song specifically for Alya. She liked the song the first time she heard it in original form because the music alone calls out for memories of the best days spent at the sea and beach parties. The Slovenian lyrics were this time written by Flex.

Otherwise Alya is preparing several promotional concerts and appearances in September and October, which will round up the official presentation of the album Non Stop. For the first time you will be able to see Alya on Saturday, on the 5th September in Nova Gorica and Kranj, where she will host a premiere with her band for the song Brazil. Other concerts also won’t be left out as Alya knows how to always attract attention anywhere she is with her positive energy and good music. And so she spent her summer being very productive.

Last weekend she performed in Kranjska gora on a sports and culture festival, where many foreigners were present. “Of course I also sang my new single Brazil and during my performance my technician saw that some foreigners were singing my song in their own manner. Everything together seemed unusual and after the performance he went and asked them where they come from and they said Brazil. And then it immediately became clear to me why they were singing along in Portuguese as they knew the song from their homeland,” explained Alya.  Later on gave them a few autographs and her newest CD as a token of appreciation.

Alya shot video for Brazil

Alya recorded her new video in sunny Portorož. In the stunning ambient of the cocktail bar Alaya, which of course wasn’t selected by chance, the shooting lasted the entire day and late into the night. The directors were this time Nenad Muždeka and Branco Grabovac and a total of 40 walk-ons were casted.

If usually the most annoying part of shooting a video is waiting between different scenes while they are being set up and are shot over and over again says Alya, then this time the most annoying part was the extreme heat, which was diligently melting away the makeup. The team had a lot of work, while the cheerful Alya talked with various fans that came to see how the shooting went during breaks.

The catchy song Brazil was soon sung by heart and by noon there wasn’t a boy or girl in Alaya that wouldn’t know at least a part of the summer-painted lyrics.

Alyas fans that applied via her website also appeared in her video – more than 60 applied, 40 of the best or rather the bravest also danced with Alya. They said they had a lot of fun shooting and came from various part of Slovenia, from Prekmurje to Dolenjska.

“The best scenes were shot in the evening on the pier, at the sunset when some had already softened up while others still partied with cocktails till late in the night,” said Alya.
At the same time the scene from Alyas concert in the oriental club was shot, where the national champion in break-dancing appears. “At the end we even interrupted their usual evening program (belly-dancing) because we had to shoot the last scene – the concert, but we all had a lot of fun and the audience was more than thrilled that we variegated their evening in such a manner.”
The video will come to small screens before the end of the month and in September the big promotion of the current album Non Stop! comes.
